Jonathan Schuster's love of alpacas may have been the inspiration for the show, but it's his affable, completely non-threatening nature that makes the show. That's not to say his humour is completely clean, sometimes it's quite he opposite - and that's where his talent lies. He would appear to innocently meander through his stand-up in a similar way to Josh Thomas - all the while drawing you into his world of alpacas and storybook-endings before shattering the image with direct, dirty and often poignant lines that leave the audience in hysterics. Despite the cynicism that often becomes the high-point of his routines, he's generally a feel-good comedian that you can't help but like. His punch lines aren't as frequent as some comedians' because of his storytelling style and at times it felt like material was stretched a little long, but generally, the time he spent setting the scene and the tone made the laughs all the bigger when he got to the punchline. His content ranges from his family, to Zoo models to his apparent lack of masculinity all the while adding in extra alpaca facts. A treat to see, you'll find him charming, endearing, then BANG!... Hysterical.
